Samoa:Fugalei Markets proposal
This project was for a for a new ‘Fugalei Markets’. The proposal consisted of separating out textiles from market food while also utilizing medical and police facilities nearby. The cooking facilities were housed outside of the markets in accessory buildings were it was intended to recycle the oils for bio-diesel to bring down the cost of the local bus service. The corners of the building were designed to operate like a ships bow in the event of a tsunami where people could be kept save and seek refuge upstairs
